Other categories will still race for most laps completed, but the DMR winner will be assessed on an interview and a display and then must complete a minimum of 200 laps to be eligible. DMR laps will not contribute to their score except in the case of a countback.
Details will be on this site early in February, 2010. If contemplating new vehicles or significant modifications to enter DMR, TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS!!
DMR category (Design - Make - Race)
Your team design and construct a machine for optimum racing speed, and with the strength to go the whole distance, within the guidelines of the HPV rules and regulations. You will compete besides schools from all around Queensland and possibly interstate as well. Your score will be based on two areas. Firstly, an A3 display folder complete with sketches, drawings, photos and text showcasing the process your team went through to design, construct and test your vehicle. Your team will also be interviewed to assess the overall knowledge and understanding of the vehicle design and operation. These scores are then added to arrive at a total score. To qualify as the winner, your team must have completed aminimum of 200 laps. Full details appear in the rules.
